Not only is this a crazy time of year with the holidays, but it’s a uncomfortable time of year for our skin. Everyday at work I have women and younger girls even come in and say what’s a good foundation for me right now, my skin is so dry. So I always ask them, do they currently wear foundation? Is it a powder, liquid or cream? Do they moisturize, prime then apply their makeup? So many factors play into to perfecting your beautiful canvas! I have a lot of people who need lower price point products and others who are willing to invest in higher end lines. I personally recommend a higher end brand if you really are concerned about your skin. For the life of me this November and beginning of December I couldn’t get rid of my dry skin, I was trying a few products and nothing. So here’s what I did and recommend…
1. Splurge on a microdermabrasion facial ($60 at ULTA, and my esthetician at my Westminster, MD ULTA is fantastic). This facial put my natural oils back into my skin. The facial didn’t hurt at all, I was actually relaxed during it and my face was only red for about an hour after.
2. Invest in a 3 step cleansing skin care line. Clinique is fantastic especially for teens, cleanse, toner and moisture surge moisturizer. I use Arbonne Be Calm 4 step line for my Rosacea. Murad skincare and Kate Somerville’s line I also love and recommend. I use the Murad Revitalixir Recovery Serum and have noticed a huge difference in my forehead wrinkles and added glow to my skin!
3. My 2 favorite exfoliators are Kate Somerville Exfolikate (smells like cinnamon and tingles a little). This is a higher end product $85 investment but ULTA sells kits so you can sample to try the products out. I got mine in my FabFitFun box and fell in love. I also love L’Oréal’s Pure sugar scrub in cocoa. (This one smells like chocolate). This is less than $10.
4. And don’t be afraid to try a few tools like the Clarisonic brush (there are less expensive ones out there too), the jade roller, exercise for your pretty cheeks, and the fun little Foreo. All found at ULTA!! Please email me or DM me with any of your skin questions!!
Happy Hydrating!!
