New Year, New Goals

So lets just start by saying that I have NOT had time to post a new blog post in a little while. Since this is not my full time job (yet) and working full time holiday hours in retail for MAC (retail, first time again in 5 years) and spending time shopping, wrapping and visiting friends and family I have had zero time. Hopefully now I can get back and focus and bring more exciting content to “My Emerald Diaries!!” Figuring after all these years, that there are two types of people in this world around New Years, the ones who say no new me I’ll be the same person come midnight, or the second type who is all about the “new year, new me.” I probably seem a little basic on this but I personally try and be the “new year, new me” type girl. I think of it as a fresh start, a clean slate if you will. 2018 was a good year, got a house with my boyfriend and got a new job doing makeup full time. Oh yea, and it rained a lotttttttt in Maryland. (not so great).

So with that being said, I really encourage people to take the time and write a list of long term and short term goals, even if it is only for the year 2019.

My short term goals are as followed..

1. Read more. I use to read a ton, but for some unknown reason I fell away from it. Currently I’ve only read one chapter of the book “Girl wash your face” by Rachel Hollis. So far it’s excellent and maybe I’ve lost energy in the winter time since it’s basically dark at 4pm, it makes me overly tired. Same for most people I’m sure, who can relate?
2. Learn and expand my cooking skills. I kind of suck at baking but I enjoy cooking. So now if I can only expand my boyfriend Matt’s horizons with food. (he’s getting there) I can start to use all my nice cook books!
3. Take a blogging class at my community college in March and learn how to use my camera and lighting equipment, maybe hire a photographer for a few shoots here and there. (That’s a little more long term goal)
4. Take more pictures and create more content for my blog!!!

Long term goals are as followed…

1. Buy a better office desk. Nicer quality and bigger!
2. Continue to decorate my house (basement is next).
3. Continue to build a stronger relationship with Matt, my boyfriend (grow more together).
4. Find a way to provide more income for my household (be more comfortable financially within myself).
5. Learn and grow and work on my anxiety and PTSD, build stronger relationships with people who surround me. ( I worry I’m not liked by a lot of people, an insecurity I developed and am working on) I have no problem sharing that I have insecurities because we all do!

I’d love to hear what your short and long term goals are and what you plan on bringing to your 2019!
